I have to admit that this story was a bit strange. At least it wasn’t a thing like what I had imagined in my head when I first read the title of the story in the wednesday’s class during the presantation. People had ideas such “what we you and what you will be in future”, and this makes people to think about a social status of a person or job of them or even the money of that person; however being kidnapped by a man wasn’t one of the ideas which pop up at our minds.
It might be a good way to prove reader the negative/harmful sides of being a rebellious teenager. Its like the idiom that everyone might know. “My father was right” When you are 10, you listen what your parents say and accept it as right. However after 18 and till 30, you think that their ideas are just crap and your’s are quite better in nearly every part. When your age gets to 40, you start to realize, they were right.
This is a story of a girl who nearly rejects her family and seems to have walls between her and them. Not liking her mother because of not thinking in same way and making her doing what she does not want to do, her sister beacuse of being totally opposite of her; made her built those walls and not like nearly most of the things around her. But with the arrival of the man and taking her away from all of those made the things become more clear than ever. It made her become 40 in that age and made her realize the real values of the things around her.

This entry seems okay to me. The title of the story may be more a question by the writer. If we think about feminism, which in the 60s was in the second wave, which had made so many advances, but despite all of this there are women who still treat themselves as objects, or men who refuse to look at them as anything but objects. If that is the case what how far have women come? In that way the title is what you thought in class yesterday- where are women going, and how far have they come.
Unfortunately Connie learns the value of her family too late if she really left with Arnold, or maybe not too late if the whole thing was just a dream and then she woke up. Maybe when she woke up from this nightmare she turns into a different girl!
